I want a holiday even if it’s just for a day

Hola!

So i finally watched Roman Holiday and i must say- I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S TAKEN ME SO LONG TO WATCH IT- it’s a FABULOUS MOVIE. i love it. simply SPLENDID. so funny. πŸ˜‰

i do rather like Black and White movies. i mean the absence of colour is a strange experience but you get to focus on other things then and try to figure out what certain things are!

I also watched Beastly- i’m not sure whether it’s Alex Pettyfer or the books but both I Am Number Four and Beastly were pretty bad…i haven’t read Beastly as yet but to be honest, in the film he doesn’t look HORRIFYING! if he were hairier and looked more like a monster- more UNRECOGNISABLE then it would have been better. but yeah…also…how could she not have known him by his VOICE and his eyes were the same! i mean…it’s like a masked ball- if you KNOW someone then you should be able to tell WHO THEY ARE! oh well. i’ve never been to a masked ball so i wouldn’t know. but i do want to go to one. πŸ˜‰

so the title of the post is- I WANT A ONE DAY HOLIDAY TO DO WHATEVER I WANT. what would i do? get up whenever, read in bed, have french toast for breakfast, where a nice floral maxi dress, sit in the garden and READ, have some ice cream, eat salt and vinegar crisps and have some homemade lemonade, watch some movies, go to the park with my friends and have a picnic i don’t necessarily have to do anything GRAND- it’s the SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE! =P

WOOHOO!

The other black and white film i saw was Anne of Green Gables- the 1934 version which was BRILLIANT. the fact that the girl who played Anne Shirley was called ANNE SHIRLEY blew my mind…

i LOVE THIS SCENE!

and they all lived Happily Ever After…well…young love. πŸ˜‰

and of course Taylor Swift’s Mean video is awesome as usual!

so in case you’ve been living under a rock or in a cave…or you just don’t care then apparently Public Enemy Number One- Osamah (Usamah) bin Laden has been KILLED by SEAL members of the US military in his OWN HOME in Pakistan. wow. they should have thought of that before invading Afghanistan and spending loads of money on protection from the War on Terror.

i wonder if know, the Islamaphobes will find someone else to hate on? i doubt it.we all need someone to blame and he was the one now let’s just still blame Islam and every single Muslim.

Also…the Liberal Democrats lost sooo many seats in Parliament in elections across the UK- HA that’s what you get for making EMPTY PROMISES. and the UK said NO to AV- Alternative Vote. πŸ˜‰

Today was a rather good day for me because i went to Oxfam and bought TWO books- Across the Universe by Beth Revis (dystopian trilogy) and The Napoleon of Notting Hill by G.K.Chesterton. =P

I’ve noticed that most of the YA dystopian novels are TRILOGIES! that’s not such a bad thing. of course Hollywood HAS to appeal to the younger market and so they are buying rights to books that HAVEN’T EVEN BEEN PUBLISHED AS YET (Divergent- recently published)

TV:

Glee- Rumours- i do love Fleetwood Mac but this episode well it was kind of hard to live up to after the whole Born This Way episode so yeah but PROM episode is this week. Exciting Times! Now i’m going to watch A Very Potter Musical starring Glee’s very own Darren Criss (BLAINE!)

Gossip Girl- yeah…Chuck is just such a b******d at the end. Blair didn’t seem too happy about Louis’s proposal i guess she IS rather young but hey- the things you do forΒ  LOVE. though i’m sure they’ll break up, he’ll be heartbroken and will have to find someone else because marrying her means he loses his right to the throne. More Chuck and Blair drama on the way.

Serena is such a biatch for hating on Blair. and Charlie is so freaky.

but i have to say THOSE DRESSES. woah. LOVE THEM. so shiny and sparkly and PRETTY!!!

I LOVE THAT PURPLE DRESS.

but best of all is the dress Louis bought Blair- so beautifully sparkly and very Princessy-

Blair Looking Simply Splendid

90210- Silver has been checked into hospital having bipolar sucks- those highs and lows- could be mistaken for serious mood swings but this is a serious mental disorder. Adrianna’s such a biatch for doing that- just to get NAVEED. how conniving.

oh and i SO knew that would happen to Annie. and Max was so sweet but i don’t know…it was his DREAM to go to MIT!!! but he gave it all up for LOVE. then there’ll prob be some drama and they’ll break up- how sad.

oh and Teddy’s lover boy- sooo clichΓ© oh i lied because i thought you’d never look at me twice if you knew i was poor and blah blah blah so i pretended but luckily you found out soon and now you know the real me do you still want to be with me?!

Vampire Diaries- waaay too many people died. but hey…there’s bound to be SOME death- it is a show about VAMPIRES. but yeah…i’m kinda over Stefan now. and Damon won’t die. They always find a way…

Cougar Town- this show never fails to make me LAUGH. =D

Phineas and Ferb- ah…Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension- MOVIE COMING SUMMER 2011.

Dr.Who- i really enjoyed this week’s episode- Lily Cole as the weird siren doctor thingy and yeah the whole Amy being pregnant or not is the running theme of the series. i’m really looking forward to the next episode with the Ood and Neil Gaiman has written it! YAY.

In Hunger Games Movie news:

They’ve cast all tributes apart from District 2 (Cato and Clove)Β  and District 10.

Wes BentleyΒ  (yes he is Ricky Fitts in American Beauty) will play Seneca Crane.

Also…Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones, Hanna)Β  has been cast as Melanie/Wanda in The Host!!! i think she’ll be pretty good- i know she can act and she is BEAUTIFUL. =)

Yeah, she's only 17!

So i’ve been reading The Best of Everything by Rona Jaffe- it’s about these 5 girls in New York and their lives in the 50s.they work in Publishing- makes me want to be a Reader more than ever!

Famous Book about the publishing world in the 1950s

When i bought Across the Universe today i read the first chapter- imagine being in a coma for 301 years…WOW. no- that’s actually NOT what the book is about but it’s a rather terrifying thought- being in a state of limbo for so long with no communication.

It's a TRILOGY!

Dystopian novels is the new trend in YA fiction moving AWAY from paranormal fiction.

i’m not too sure about this cover…it’s kinda dodgy i think the guy his going to kiss her so she can wake up- like Sleeping beauty and Snow White. that’s why their faces are at different angles.

My friend introduced me to this incredible guy- DELS

ENJOY!

Oooh, some interesting stuff i discovered this week-

There’s a place called Crotch Corner in Oxfordshire, England- who the hell named THAT PLACE?!

this awesome artist Lucy Knisley did a comic for for the first 5 Harry Potter books-ENJOY!

Also…an interesting Modern love story- a New York Times competition winner

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/01/fashion/01Modern.html?_r=2&smid=fb-nytimes&WT.mc_id=ST-SM-E-FB-SM-LIN-MLE-050511-NYT-NA&WT.mc_ev=click

It’s an interesting idea. as Sage Francis says: ‘technology made it easy for us to stay in touch till we stay distant and never touch now all we do is text too much.’

Ever wondered what cats were thinking?! OF COURSE. WE ALL WONDER WHAT THESE ENIGMATIC ANIMALS THINK.

This is mad- BRILLIANTLY MAD. =P

okay so i shall leave you with something to ponder over.

Be Yourself

Little Things Matter

"If we could follow the slogan that says,"Turn off the TV and open a good book" we would do something of substance for a future generation." Gordon B. Hinckley

Adios!

Have a good week people- Remember to SMILE and appreciate everything you have and be thankful for the stuff you DON’T have (i.e diseases and disabilities etc)!

Whatever the weather- have fun and don’t forget to Take Care of Yourself!

Happy Reading!

PEACE. LOVE. BOOKS. =D
